Intervention and Care of Children, Men and Women infected and affected with HIV/AIDS.

The Community Care Centre (CCC) Project was established in the year 2006. This project embraced people infected and affected by HIV & AIDS. It envisions empowered individuals to live with dignity and with a hope for the future. Through individual transformation and community ownership it aims to care and support people infected and affected by HIV & AIDS. The project provides investigation facilities and treatment in partnership with hospitals. This group of individuals had to face stigma and rejection in their families and community as well. They were treated as untouchables.

After years of planning and dedicated work with the target groups in the community the team members ultimately succeeded in bringing about community transformation in the form of increase in participation in project work by beneficiaries like decision-making, able to think proactively for others concern, feeling of self-worth and hope, reduction in opportunistic infection (OI).

The project is spread across different districts namely, Hooghly, South 24 Parganas, North 24 Parganas, Nadia, Murshidabad, Kolkata, Howrah.

The centre provides various facilities/services such as health care facilities for primary health check-up and appropriate treatment, a drop-in centre for children and adults, counseling to individuals, families and groups, free nutritional support, referral service, legal support, IGPs, SHGs, education support for children, weekly clinic (for children & PLHIVs), dry ration support, vocational training unit, target intervention for the HIV infected CSW community and their affected children, capacity building through awareness programme, network and advocacy programme.
